WHAT IS A PRIVATE VIRTUAL SERVER?
Virtual Private Servers or VPS is a method of dividing a server so that each virtual server can run it's own operating system and be independently booted. Each virtual server is allocated a share of resources of the physical server such as RAM, disk space, CPU processing, but the VPS is independent of the actual hardware. The VPS is private in that other VPS servers on the same physical server cannot interact with its file system or processes. The Virtual Private Server is a midpoint between shared web hosting and dedicated hosting allowing some independence from other customers on the same server yet costing much less than a dedicated server.
